1. How to get to Thimphu?

The only international airport of Bhutan is located in Paro, which is well connected by regular flights from Kathmandu in Nepal, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra, Gywahati, and Gaya in India, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Bangkok in Thailand and Changi in Singapore. Most tourists first fly to Paro, and then drive to Thimphu. Covering a distance of nearly 54 kilometers, it usually takes you about one and a half hours to transfer. This proves to be the most convenient way to get to Thimphu.

2. When is the best time to plan Thimphu holidays?

Generally, the best time to go for a Thimphu tour is spring and autumn. Lasting from March to May, the spring Thimphu has an average daytime temperature of 17 degrees. Beautiful rhododendrons bloom in spring and there is a Rhododendron Festival held in every April in Thimphu.

In autumn, from September to November, Thimphu has an average temperature of 13 degrees. Fabulous Thimphu Tsheshu Festival is celebrated in October in Tashicho Dzong.

Spring and autumn are also the tourist high seasons to visit Bhutan and Thimphu is the most-visited destination, so you’d better book your Thimphu tour in advance.

3. How far in advance do you have to book your Thimphu tour?

It is suggested to book your Thimphu tour for 8 weeks in advance. If you travel to Bhutan during the tourist peak season, you'd better book 12 weeks in advance. Usually, it can be very hard to get accommodation and flight seats without advance bookings if you want to experience the popular Tshechu festivals in Bhutan.

4. How many days are required to visit Thimphu?

A Thimphu sightseeing tour usually takes at least 2 days to complete. And you must cover the most important landmarks like Tashichho Dzong, National Memorial Chorten and Weekend Market in your itinerary. Besides, sightseeing to the precious cultural heritages including National Folk Heritage Museum, Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory, and Simtokha Dzong can not afford to miss.

5. Can you customize the itinerary of your Thimphu tour?

6. What is included in Thimphu tour packages?

A Thimphu tour package covers almost all you need when you are traveling here, including accommodation, transport in Bhutan, local travel guide, three meals a day, entrance fees of scenic spots during the tour, and camping service for trekking tour. Your accommodation is arranged in at least 3-star hotels, which is the minimum standard for tourism in Bhutan. You have your own guide and driver, and they accompany you throughout the whole journey. The vehicle used is usually SUVs, with large space for luggage.

7. Are flights included in the Thimphu tour package?

The round-trip flights to Bhutan are excluded in the Thimphu tour package. But we do offer the flight information. Except for the flights, the package does not cover the charge of Bhutan Visa(we are willing to help you to do the visa application) and your personal expenses, including laundry, health care, souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, tips for guide and driver either.
