Bhutan’s only highway starts from Phuentsholing in the south border and runs north to Thimphu, the national capital city, with a distance of about 147km. The other major cities, including Paro, Punakha, and Bumthang lie on spurs of the main highway.

Along the highway, you can enjoy an amazing road biking in Bhutan, with some of the famous mountain passes to cross, including the Duchu Lass between Thimphu and Punakha, the Chele La between Paro and Haa, the Pele La between Wangdue and Trongsa, etc. Beautiful valley scenery and special rural landscapes such as terraced rice fields and potato fields are rewards of your efforts.

You should have an adequate level of fitness and be experienced enough in mountain biking. Your tours are fully supported by a vehicle following. The vehicle allows you to have a rest if you need it. Many of the biking trails pass through the small villages and temples which can provide interesting and informative diversions if you want to stop for a visit.
